Happy Saint Lucia Day!
Also, today is Saint Lucia Day! Kirsten is all decked out in her St. Lucia dress and served breakfast to all the dolls of Sweet Pea Cove now she is sitting by me while I type this out.

I can't believe it is so close to Christmas! Even though I've been listening to Christmas music and watching the shows,it doesn't feel exactly like Christmas. But I'm sure it will feel more and more like Christmas soon with the cold weather, decorating the tree(it is only half done),and baking all the Christmas goodies. Yum yum!

Now I'm off to sew some Christmas shirts. That will put me more in the mood!

Custom Sonic Character

My friend(who is a total Sonic the Hedgehog fanatic) asked me to crochet her one of her Sonic characters that she made,Rose. She drew up some sketches and I got to work. She also asked me to made her another Tails so she could give it to one of her friends. I finished both in about a month and a half. I used the Sonic and Tails patterns I used before, except I modified the Sonic pattern so it would work for Rose. It was a bit of a challenge to make a custom character but I love how she turned out(and my friend did  too).

Crochet Dragon #2

In June of 2011,I made a dragon for me,like the one I made my cousin. I just used yarn that I had on hand so the dragon(which I named Norbert) is red and white. One day I would like to try to make a rainbow dragon but that will be a while from now... This dragon took me about a month to crochet, sew, and stuff. I worked on it at more of a leisurely pace, since it is just for myself. I love how he turned out! Dragon are so cool! Lol :-)

Baby Blanket

This is a baby blanket I made for my Aunt to give as a gift to one of her friends. It is made from a spirl blanket pattern. It was a little confusing when I started but it is really easy once you get going.

Fishtail Braid

Yay! My first hair tutorial! Well...it's not that much a tutorial but I tell you how to do a hairstyle so I guess it is a mini tutorial. ;-)

All you do is gather only the top part of your hair and start fishtail braiding. Fishtail braiding is where you part your hair in 2 equal pieces and take a tiny section of hair from 1 side and bring it to the other side, then take a tiny piece of hair from that side and cross it over to the other side. Keep repeating that and pretty soon you will have completed the braid. If this doesn't make since to you,you can check out YouTube for some great tutorials.

Happy Braiding! ;-)

My Hunger Games Party

For my 18th birthday this year,I had a Hunger Games themed party. I made oragami cranes for Mockingjays, parachutes out of foil and tissue paper,my sister and I made some Hunger Games scrapbook-type posters,we got fire colors for the plates, table cloth, and cups(red, orange, yeallow),and my mom made some awesome food! We looked at recipes from the Hunger Games cookbook and from online to get ideas on what to make. I decided to have a brunch party(mmm...brunch!) so everything was breakfast food. We had fruit tray, cinamon rolls, apple squares, quishes, and a breakfast casserole, complete with Hunger Games inspired names. My mom also made a punch and a cookie cake and strawberry poke cake(also adorned with Hunger Games-ness). My mom always does a great job with parties. This one was lots of fun! May the odds be ever in your favor!
