Harry Potter Blanket 2

Last Monday, January 16th,I finally officially finished my blanket! I was a little sad to finish it but also happy because I can now move on to other things. The blanket, which was originally going to be made for a twin bed,can fit a queen bed. Here it is on my parents' bed.

Now here it is on my bed,the twin.

Harry Potter Blanket 1

As you may know, the last Harry Potter film came out over the summer. :-( So as tribute to the best books and movies,I decided to crochet a blanket. It started out just doing a checker board design with each of the house colors. But then my mom and I got to talking and the blanket that was only going to fit a twin bed can now fit a queen. This blanket took 6 months to do.

Before sewed together

Left side (Gryffindor,Golden Snitch,Hufflepuff)

Middle(Dumbledore's Army,Harry Potter,and the Dark Mark)

Right side(Ravenclaw,the Deathly Hallows,Slytherin)

Valentine's Day Shirt

I made a Valentine's Day shirt last year. It is made from a Butterick pattern and fabric bought from JoAnn's. The sleeves are in a bell shape which is really cool and I added lace to the bottom because...I love lace! :-)

Kit's Oatmeal with Peaches

This is probably my favorite recipe. Eating rolled oats taste so much better that the packaged instant. It does take a little getting used to but it is so good! Especially with fresh peaches in it(My favorite way to eat oatmeal, now). Dried fruit also tastes really good in it,too! We,also, added some brown sugar to sweeten it. We have made homemade oatmeal before, but since we made this we have been eating only rolled oats(not the packaged instant). So yummy!

Kit's Roast Beef and Potatoes

Our next recipe was Kit's Roast Beef and Potatoes. This was another easy recipe and great for the family. I guess it would have to be since it was the Great Depression. I liked this meal it was very filling and warm. It would make a great winter and autumn meal. We also made the glazed carrots(also from Kit's Cookbook). They were very good!

Kit's Cincinnati Chili

Over the summer,my mom and I were going to go through all the American Girl cookbooks and make everything in them. That didn't happen. We only got to make 3 things. The first one was Kit's Cincinnati Chili. It was easy to make, tasted good, and wasn't spicy. This would make a great meal for a family, especially if you have little kids who don't like spicy food.

For Christmas,my family got my cousin the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book set. (I love those books(and movies)!) So I was looking around and found crochet patterns to make Greg and Rodrick! The patterns can be found here. It was super easy and quick to do. It was fun to create some of my favorite book characters. Now I have to make some for me and my brothers. :-)

My Rapunzel Dress

Here is my Rapunzel dress based on Rapunzel's dress from 'Tangled'. I made the pattern and sewed it up myself. Now for what everyone wants to see, pictures!

The front. Lacing it up takes a while to do.

Side view(you can see my hair better)

The back, complete with back panel with buttons

Posing with a frying pan("Frying pans...Who knew,right?")

This dress was a lot of work but tons of fun to do. I still have to do the embroidery but I will get to that later. Thanks for looking! :-)
