FREE American Girl Hooded Towel Pattern

Today, I have another free pattern for you! Whoo hoo! Today's pattern is how to make a Hooded Towel for your American Girl doll (or other 18 inch doll). The pattern is really easy. You can whip one up in no time at all!

What you will need:
~1/3 of a yard of Towel like fabric
~Matching thread
~15 inches of ribbon (I used 1 1/2 inch but any size would be cute)
~Scissors
~Sewing machine
~The pattern piece HERE (be sure that the scale is to "None")

*All seams are 1/4 inch*

1. Cut 1 piece that is 12 inches by 22 inches. Cut 2 of the Hood pattern.

2. With right sides together, sew the 2 hood pieces together along the curved edge. Clip curves.

3. Hem the long edge of the hood. Addy was helping me out, she was in a sewing mood. ;-)

4. Sew the ribbon to the hood, a 1/2 inch away from the edge. Set aside for now.

5. Hem all 4 sides of the large towel piece. For the bottom hem, I did a larger (about 1 inch) hem.
You can do whatever you think looks good. :-)

6. With wrong sides together, fold your hemmed towel in half. Place a pin to mark the middle. Open the towel back up.

7. With right sides together, pin the hood to the towel, matching the center seam of the hood to the pin on the hemmed towel. Sew together.

8. Tada! Your doll now has her very own Hooded Towel to use at the beach or at bath time.

I hope you (and your dolls) like the pattern! :-D

Here are some more pictures for your viewing pleasure! And I may or may not have gotten carried away with editing the pictures. Hehe! ;-)

I also made some out of blue towel fabric, and 3/4 inch ribbon.
So cute!

Thank you for reading! Enjoy!

Rapunzel"s Photo Shoot

A few weeks ago, I took some pictures of  my Disney Animator Rapunzel doll. (Those dolls are SO cute!!)
Since it is winter time, I had to make her a coat so she can stay warm. (I'm working on a pattern for it so stay tuned for that. ;-) )

I thought a sunny yellow would work great for Rapunzel because of her Kingdom's sun symbol.

Now I have to make more coats for all my other dolls, so they can stop shivering from the cold. Hehe!

Now on to a bunch more of Rapunzel pictures in a small photo story!

"Lets go on an adventure, Pascal!"

"But first I need to grab some things..."

"You can never be too careful."
*crunch*

"Did you here that?"

"Don't worry, Pascal. I'll protect you."

"I don't hear it anymore."

"But as long as I got my..."

"trusty frying pan..."

"we will be okay."

"I hope..."

*crunch*

"On second thought, let's go home."

"Which way is home?"

""Uh oh."

"I think I'm lost."

"I don't know what to do."

*crunch*

"Help?"

Will Rapunzel make it home? What is that crunching noise? What is going to happen?!?!
:-O

Mini Teddy Bear Pattern - FREE

I have another free pattern for you this week! :-) This time it is a teddy bear you can sew for your doll. The Mini Teddy Bear Pattern works great with the Summer Pajama Collection Pattern for Disney Animator Dolls. The Summer Pajama Collection pattern was just released in my Etsy store yesterday. You can see it here

The dolls can't fall asleep with out their teddy bear to protect them. ;-)

The bear will be about 3 inches tall and (to me) works for a variety of dolls. I tested it against American Girl dolls, Hearts For Hearts dolls, Barbie, Gotz, and the Disney Animator dolls and the teddy bear looks cute next to all of them. :-)

Merida (Disney Store Barbie doll), Shola (Hearts for Hearts doll), Sylvia Natterer doll, Nellie (American Girl)

The bear is easy to sew up. All you need to know is the blanket stitch and whatever stitches you want for the face (I used the satin and back stitch).

Here are all the steps it takes to make the bear.

Here is the Mini Teddy Bear PDF pattern for you to enjoy. I hope you (and your dolls) like the bear you make! :-)

Go Teddy!

Tinker Bell and Teddy

Time for bed.

"Teddy, wants to stay up longer."
